And some radical improvements in the Labor Force Participation rate.

Mostly stable from 2004 up to 2009 around 66%, the trend since then has been strictly tanksville, now around 64%. People dropping out of the work force exacerbates just about every economic problem we have – tax revenues, transfer payments, consumer spending and confidence, savings rates, etc.

It also renders most of the reporting on unemployment statistics into two categories: misleading or meaningless.

If you really want the hair on the back of your neck to stand on end, check out the SGS numbers as well as the official U-6 unemployment rates compared to the U-3 rates….
